At Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Public School Education for Life, Excellence in Education and Commitment to a meaningful Education are of prime importance. Quality education is provided to each and every child. SBDSPS believes that love for education should be developed for children in initial years and conditions should be created for them to pursue a positive approach in life. A unidirectional teaching method is being increasingly substituted by a multi-directional group workshop method. Here the teacher becomes the group coordinator initiating work, nurturing students without the phobia of examinations and homework. Development of oral and written expression is emphasized upon. Home assignments are not a carry-over of classwork but oriented towards honing individual talents.
Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Public School is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which is the largest educational board in the country and is duly recognized by the Department of Education, Government of NCT Delhi.
Curriculum
The School has students enrolled from grade 1 to grade Matric. School is divided into two Campuses. Junior and Senior Wing.
The school considers education to be a life-long process which should have a strong foundation. The goal of the school is to inculcate in the students a love for learning and a desire to excel at every level. The school also aims at equipping the students with the intellectual and practical skills that are necessary to meet the challenges in the future.
To sum up, the mission of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Public School Pahuwind (Taran Taran) is "to open doors and open minds" and prepare the ground for the future of the nation.
Extra Co- curricular Activities.
Shaheed Baba Deep
Singh Public School takes it
students on various tours and camps. These trips are essential for knowledge
and personality development. These tours are conducted in such a way that
minimum financial burden is put on the students.
During 2011 children
were taken on the following trips:-
1. Visit to Amritsar
to see Jallianwala Bagh and funcity and pay obeisance at the Golden Temple and other historic Gurdawaras on regular basis every year.
2. A trip to science
city (Kapurthala) on regular basis every year.
3. A trip to Delhi by rail. The
students visited the historic Red fort, Qutab Minar , Jamma Masjid, Janta
Mantar, Gurdwara Bangla Sahib & Sisganj Sahib, Lotus temple, Indra Gandhi Museum, India Gate etc.The students enjoyed
travelling by Metro rail.
4. In 2012
a trip went to Delhi, Agra,
Fathepur Sikri and Gwalior.
5. Trip to Chandigarh, Anandpur
Sahib, Chatbir Zoo and Fathegarh Sahib Gurdawara is undertaken on a regular
basis every year. Besides the students visit Pinjore
Gardens, Sukhna Lake,
Rock Garden, Rose Garden etc.
6. Forty Students were taken to Hattu peak in oct
2011 which is 11000 f.t high and is located 90kms beyond Simla. Three days
adventure camp was organized for free by Shri Partap Chauhan the owner of the
camp. Students participated in Rock climbing; night marches, pitching of tents,
air gun target practice and camp fire etc. The students were made aware of the
difficult life of the hill people in the way of shortage of land, difficult
communication system subject to frequent break downs and scarcity of water etc.
This trip hence forth will be on regular basis.
The
chairman Col. G.S Sandhu takes a personal interest in all these tours and
accompanies students on most of them.
